Change of pace today, we stayed in OH. We fished close to West Sister in 34' of water. We caught our limit. Most of the walleye were about 10' off the bottom. We used MFR's.

WIND!!!! Yea!!!
Much better day today. We fished Mosquito bay in 31' to 22' of water. We used MFR's. We came in with 30 walleye, the largest was 26". Other boats around us caught their limit, on the Wheel, and in Mosquito bay. The east side of Pelee also produced fish.
The wind direction changed from SW to West and fishing slowed. (Our last drift picked up...I think the walleye were adjusting to the wind change.)

We moved all over the west side of Pelee today. We lost all wind around 10:00AM. Fishing was good in 30' of water early, (our boats who left at 6:00AM had 9 walleye by the time we got there.) We did find a pocket of walleye late in 24' of water south of Sheridan point. Our boats came in with 18 to 26 walleye. (We had 5 boats out.)

Back to the Wheel today. We lost all wind. Most of our boats came in with 20+ walleye. We fished all over the Wheel from 31' to 22' of water. The lake seemed to shut down as we lost the wind.

WE fished Wagon Wheel today and our 2 boats caught the crew's ;imit. The largest fish on both boats was 28". We used MFR's and fished 32' to 24' of water. Walleye were also taken on thne OH side at the 47/55 line and by the old "C" can.

A much better day today. We fished both the West and east side of Pelee. All of our boats caught at least the crew's limit. We fished winter on the east side and between the Wheel and the chicks on the west side.

Another tough day on the lake. This is the 3rd day in a row that we have really struggled. We fished the Chicks and each boat came in with 10 walleye. They were large fish averaging 24 1/2". When the wind died so did the fishing. (We need some major wind!!)
The east side of Pelee produced 25 to 36 walleye per boat. (You needed casting ability.)

Another tough day. We fished a bit NE of the spar bout near the Chicks. The fish were there, but we could only bring in 14. We were fishing in 28' of water. (We need some strong wind!!)
The bit 4 miles east of the old "C" can picked back up. Most boats caught around 30 walleye. They were fishing in 38' of water and used MFR's.

Feast to famine with both the wind and fishing. We fished all over, but the lack of any wind hurt our fishing. Each of our boats came in with less than 12 walleye. (A couple of boats did get 15 to 22 walleye on the Wheel. The OH side also shut down completely.

To mosquito bay again....and again a limit catch. We fishe d18' to 26' of water. The walleye were very close to the surface today. We used MFR's. We had 6 fish over 26". Our average walleye was almost 4lbs.

We started out on KG and pulled 12 walleye on our first drift. Boat pressure shut down the fishing and we moved to mosquito bay to catch the boat limit. The average weight of the walleye exceeded 3.5lbs. We had a 150+lb box of fish.
We fished in 17' to 14' of water on KG and 26' to 30' in Mosquito Bay. We used mayfly rigs.
The bite out west slowed, but limits were taken north of "B" can and at the 45/58 line.

3 boats toward mosquito bay today. We started with heavy NW wind. (It died about 1:00PM). 1 boat caught their limit the other 2 were close. Again the average walleye was close to 3.5 lbs. Each boat had 3 walleye over 27".
Deep water NW of Gull Is Shoal also produced limits. The water west was still turned up.

Winds were still light today. We went to KG and did great on the first drift. Nothing after that. We moved NW to the deep water near Mosquito bay and caught some fish. We came in with 22 walleye. We used MFR's. Our best depth was 28'.
Fish were taken early on Scott Point Shoal in 17' to 12' of water.

Heavy NW winds turn the water west into mud. We all went tord Gull Is Shoal and KG. We fished 25' to 36' of water. We long lined MFR's and used bottom bouncers (BB's). We had a good day. 2 boats had to be in by 1:00 each came in with 20 walleye average weight over 4 lbs per fish. The largest was 31" with 4 additional fish Ohio's (over 28"). The other boats came in with the crew's limit each having at least 3 fish o's.

We split up again today. 3 boats went west and one to KG. All of us came in with our limit. The west boats went toward "D" can and fished in 23' of water. They used mayfly rigs and Bottom bouncers. The average walleye was around 19". The KG boat came in with a huge box of fish. We had multiple fish over 26". We fished 25' to 14' of water. Mayfly rigs (MFR) worked best.

April has been hit and miss as the weather has not cooperated this spring. When the wind wasn't blowing the water was stirred up. The best catches of the month were around "K" can. Later in the month some nice catches were taken off of West reef and near KI shoal.
